The SiRi Network was formed in 2000 as a not-for-profit entity named SiRi Group. The key strength of the independent research and consulting philosophy of SiRi Company is the recognition that, while global investing requires global research, company analysis must take account of local circumstances and cultural differences. Therefore, research is best undertaken by organisations based in local markets. In adopting a centralised business strategy and control, the company enhances its capacity to put this vision into practice. SiRi research partners provide SRI research on corporations based in their own home markets, but with consistent content, in a standardised format and with harmonised quality standards set by the Company. This gives clients the benefits of global coverage based on local knowledge. SiRi Company provides detailed profiles and ratings on the largest 600 global companies. Individual SiRi network partners offer local profiles on over another 4,000 corporations worldwide together with a wide range of sustainable investment solutions geared to the needs of institutional investors, including construction of SRI indices, provision of weighted company ratings, SRI fund monitoring and strategic SRI consultancy.
