In 1979, Richard H. Driehaus formed Driehaus Securities LLC, a registered broker/dealer (and our brokerage affiliate.) The firm initially concentrated on providing growth investment research to large institutional clients. Driehaus Small Cap Growth product launched on January 1, 1980. Deriehaus Capital Management LLC was formed in 1982 as a registered investment adviser to provide investment management services to separate client accounts. Driehaus Mid Cap Growth product launched in 1986. In 1990, both companies were refocused from research-driven stock brokerage to investment management. In 1990, Driehaus Capital Management LLC entered new territory when it opened its first international product. In 1993, Driehaus Capital Management LLC entered into a sub-advisory agreement with a large Canadian-based mutual fund company. We currently manage two products for this firm. In 1996, Driehaus Mutual Funds was launched. In 1997, the Driehaus Small Cap Recovery Growth product was added to the Driehaus product lineup. On January 1, 1998, we introduced the Driehaus Emerging Markets Growth Fund. On January 1, 1999 we introduced the Driehaus International Discovery Fund. In July 2002, the Driehaus International Discovery and the Driehaus Emerging Markets Growth products were opened to institutional investors as separately managed accounts. On January 1, 2006, Driehaus Capital Management, Inc. merged into and changed its name to Driehaus Capital Management LLC, and Driehaus Securities Corporation merged into and changed its name to Driehaus Securities LLC. The legal structure of our companies were changed in order to give us a more flexible legal and business structure to operate our businesses. There are no changes in the business services that our companies provide, and no impact on our clients.
